Here’s a portrait i took of three openly gay servicemen who participated in today’s ANZAC day march, it was for a feature in this months Time Out Sydney magazine.
I shot it my home studio and it was a real pleasure to do. The three gents were full of charm and pride.
It made me realise i have preconceived ideas about the military being overrun by macho bravado, and being gay and serving would mean a life lived as an outcast and victim of bullying. But evidently it’s not as bad as i’d imagined.
These guys pride in their work and themselves is inspiring.
